What the PDF Covers
- No self-identification — The being in the Cave of Hira never named itself “Gabriel” or gave credentials. Biblical Gabriel always does (Luke 1:19; Daniel 8–9).
- Muhammad did not know who it was — He returned terrified, fearing possession or madness. Biblical recipients are told immediately who is speaking.
- Identification by non-witnesses — Khadijah and Waraqah (who were not in the cave) later guessed it was the same “Namus” that came to Moses.
- Biblical mismatch — In Exodus 3, God Himself spoke from the burning bush, not Gabriel. The parallel used in Islamic tradition does not match the text.
- Khadijah’s subjective test — She had Muhammad sit on her lap and removed her veil to “test” if it was an angel. A private, non-verifiable experiment by someone who could not see the being.
- Foundational issue — The entire claim of divine revelation and prophethood rests on this unidentified starting event later labeled by others.
The differences are structural: one account features an unidentified, coercive presence later explained by absent third parties; the other features an angel who names himself and states his divine commission on the spot.
